The "56" games may never be broken, how can he NOT be included, and to boot, he was "robbed" 2 times of extra base hits by Cleveland Indian's 3rd baseman, Ken Keltner, to end that streak, so it surely was not a poor performance by Joe to not extend the streak, but the other thing, very over looked, and most likely even more amazing, is that he struck out only 5 times during this streak, PROBABLY overshadowed earlier ONLY by the "most difficult" man to strike out in the history of baseball, Joe Sewell who struck out only 117 times in over 7000 at bats, and, at least once went over 30 games in a row without striking out and NEVER struck out by some hall of famers, even Grover Cleveland Alexander included, as well as Walter "Freightrain" Johnson, in his career but this post is about Joe Dimaggio, not Joe Sewell.
